The small rig cage and sun shade for the 5" Video assist is is beautifully made and presented, it's in every way deserving of 5 stars. Why only four? Even though there is a suggestion that you should buy their SDI cable, they don't explain why it's suggested. I don't believe it should be suggested as much as being included as a part of the package.
The reason for this is that the standard SDI cable that you have is very difficult to uncouple with the cage, you will need needle nose pliers or a small screw driver to disconnect your SDI once you are ready to pack down.
So if you're looking at one of these cages, I can say that you've making an excellent choice, just make sure that you buy the small rig SDI cable as suggested.
Message to the small rig guys, for the cost of the cable being added to the total price of the package, I think that the cable is more deserving of a place than is the ball mount. Please consider.
