SmallRig Cage for Atomos Ninja V 2209 was co-designed with Atomos to provide an additional protective exoskeleton for the monitor, with a wide range of industry standard mount points. The cage mounts to the monitor by a 1/4’’-20 screw on the top and two M3 screws on the left side. Across the top and bottom the cage features multiple 1/4’’-20, 3/8’’-16 holes, and an ARRI locating mount point on the base. NATO rails are also provided along on both top and bottom to allow use with a range of SmallRig mounts such as SmallRig Ball Head Magic Arm 2071 or 2072 for quick release. The cage includes a single HDMI cable clamp that works with a range of cables and is ideal for the AtomFlex 4k 60p cables. If required, the cage supports the use of a second SmallRig HDMI Cable Clamp 1693 for the HDMI output. It is attached to the left to protect the HDMI cable and port. For backward compatibility with Atomos Master Caddy II, the cage also features Drive locks that incorporate the additional size of standard 2.5’’ drives into the cage’s form factor. It features raised attachment points on both the top and bottom of the cage for use with neck straps and to accommodate the Atomos Ninja V Sunhood frame.
1. This cage is COMPATIBLE with the original Atomos Ninja V Sun hood. The Sun hood frame needs to be fitted before fitting the unit into the cage and can remain in place providing additional protection and the folding sun hoods can easily be removed.
2. If a sun hood is desired, SmallRig Sun Hood 2269 is in pre-order status.

Flexibility, protection and lightness. The perfect match for my Ninja V
The cage for the Atomos Ninja V has something strange in its design. the 1/4 "tapped hole at the bottom of the Ninja V is not accessible with the screw because the cage has a 3/8" tapped hole without countersinking at its entry and therefore the head of the screw cannot descend into the thickness of the cage. the screw is too short and only reaches a single thread of the tapping in the Ninja V. For the top hole it is done as it should be and the head of the screw is embedded in the thickness of the cage thanks to the countersinking meant for that purpose. That means that we can't attach the cage to the monitor with both top and bottom screws. there are also 2 little screws on the side that allow to maintain the angular position mut I would feed more secure using also the bottom screws.
It works perfectly, must buy if you own a Ninja V
An excellent addition to the Atomos Ninja V! Perfect for keeping full-size SSDs securely in place and attaching accessories. Paired with a NATO magic arm and camera cage, it makes attachment and detachment a breeze!
Wish it comes with two cable holders instead of one
The Smallrig cage fits well and I used the extra screw to attach the cage to the monitor at the top and bottom. The Smallrig hood is foldable and easy to attach and detach so will not take up space when packing
I find that cages are essential for Video shooting with DSLR and Mirrorless cameras. The need nowadays to fit 'gubbins' is essential. The first Smallrig cage I bought was for the Atomos Shogun and it has preformed sovereign service although it does have a small flaw, which is access to the on/off button on the Shogun. This on the other hand is a perfect fit, it has the right number of fixing points and also provides much needed protection.
SmallRig always surprises me to the up-side. Once again, this is the case! I love this cage! I'm connecting it to my SmallRig Sony A7R III cage, which has connected to it two (2) NATO Rails, an ARRI to 1/4-20 magic arm, HDMI clamp, two cold-shoe mounts and a shotgun mic clamp. I'm a professional engineer, CNC'd a manual metal-working mill, and this kind of perfectly machined parts that meet a specific need, to me is the ultimate. The standout features are: - Many of 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes - Built-in NATO rails, top and bottom - ARRI locating pins on both top and bottom of cage - Retainer clips for AtomX Cradle-mounted SSDs - Tolerances perfect to securely hold the Ninja V - All Ninja V features are easily accessible - Perfect machining and black anodizing - Comes with HDMI Cable security clamp
I picked this up so that I could comfortably mount my Ninja V on my camera without worrying about dropping the monitor. This cage offers a lot of protection around the sides and corners of the monitor, protects the HDMI cable port from any mishaps, and overall, makes the monitor feel a lot more solid and protected!
