SmallRig DSLR Action NATO Handle 1955 is a sliding top handle for moving shoots. It is designed for quick release attaching and detaching on the camera without screws. Simply slide onto Safety NATO Rail and tighten down the thumbscrew. Except for sliding it from left to right on the Rail to keep your camera balanced, you can also slide it forwards and backwards to find the balance point of your rigs.
The handle is equipped with two shoe mounts on the top and at the back respectively, to which the light accessories, such as microphone, magic arm, could be attached. This handle is equipped with the hole pattern for ARRI accessory mount pins, so you can attach ARRI compatible extension blocks. The grip provides 1/4’’ & 3/8’’ mounting points for additional accessories. Additionally, we specially offer a 1/4’’ spanner for free access. It is quite convenient when you need to improve the camera and rigs balance.

Very strong product!
I use this on my micro-4/3 camera's cage, using SmallRig's QR safety rail. It's a great setup, makes it easier to move the camera around for video, and is easy to adjust.
One thing not shown in the SmallRig site's photos -- on the end of the handle opposite that shown (i.e., opposite the end with the threaded hole) is another cold shoe. It's a great place to mount a monitor or microphone or LED light if you're using the handle in a vertical orientation.
This small stuff is like a wonder! It could be slid easily on the NATO rail of my DSLR, and then I lock it tight with a wingnut. It is perfect for handheld shooting and feels quite good. It is well designed with lots of threaded holes, cold shoes and an Arri locating points for external mountings. What makes it stand out is its light weight. That is what I value very much!
Fits the cage really nice, it is so practical, just snap on the handle and off you go. It can be adjusted a bit on the rail so it's waaay better than those handles that you fix on to your cage. And of course you can take it off if you have a small camera bag like I do.
I'm so happy for this buy. Just what I need it. Very solid and adjustable
Incredible versatile and feature packed for such a small accessory. It's well made and secure of course, but attaching with a NATO rail is nice in that you can very easily remove the handle when you don't need it. If you're putting it away into a smaller bag or something that can really come in handy (no pun intended). It can slide back and forth and the built-in allen wrench to adjust that is extremely clever and appreciated. There are a huge amount of connection points for other accessories and hot shoe mounted microphones etc. It's a hair on the short side and just barely fits my entire hand but I don't mind that because I see it more as a function filled handle than a super comfortable ergonomic style handle. There are plenty of other SmallRig handle designs if you're looking for something more along those lines. I would highly recommend it! Just don't forget to get a nato rail to attach it to.
Perfect for what its meant to do. Build quality is excellent. The built in allen key is a great idea and the sliding top handle is a great piece of design. I'm really liking the SmallRig products - both for design and build.
Easy to attache and detach, also with the wrench is very convenient.
Good job, SmallRig.
