I have always had misgivings about attaching anything to a cold-shoe mount, due to the stress it places in the fitting when gear is mis-handled. This shoe is robust, and of course, features a safety lock preventing anything falling out of the fitting. That is a feature which, in my view should be incorporated into all such mounts, but seldom is. Better yet, it attaches easily to Smallrig camera cages adding versatility to the protection they already offer by placing any stresses upon the cage and not the much more expensive camera. An excellent idea and a product finished to the standards we have come to expect of Smallrig.
This is the best cold shoe mount with anti-off button in the market
Amazed that nobody ever made a lock on a coldshoe. Thank you smallrig for making this one. I am sure it will at some point save me money when something doesn't drop out of one of our rigs and i hope many others also find the extra security a good idea. A few extra dollars per rig to make it more secure is welcome. I hope you will design this lock into many of your future product when possible.
