I am using this product with a NTG4+ Rode Microphone and a short XLR cable to enter the signal right away in my camera. In documentary configuration, this offer a great sound signal, and in fiction or commercial, it let me have a good sound signal to later synchronise the rushes.
The product handle without any problem the long NTG4+ and the suspender system works great. It might seems a little light as a system to hold your microphone but in reality it works great. I used it a couple of times already and the screws don't come loose or anything like I was expecting it. It's very well designed and it fits perfectly on the 15mm rodes on top of my camera.
Also, you can dismantle the suspension system and use it alone with other Rode type equipment.
I'm very happy about it and will buy it again with no second thoughts.
It fits my microphone completely! When working, it helps to eliminate vibrations and noise, which is really important. It connects 15mm rod with a special rod clamp, rotated in different angles. It features quick release and attachment. It is a great product and I have no idea about its usefulness until I use it.
I replaced my standard Sony FS7 microphone mount with this one. I have been very pleased with it so far!
It works with small microphones like the NTG-3 where as the standard Sony one didn't. The Smallrig microphone mount is extremely adjustable, it can turn and flip in basically any direction.
Good price and good piece of gear!
