SmallRig QR Lens Support with 15mm LW Rail Clamp 1901 Review

I got this for my GH5 Rig which is built around a SmallRig SmallRig Cage with Helmet Kit for Panasonic Lumix GH5/GH5S/DMW-XLR1 2052 with 15 mm rods. I got this to mainly support my Sigma Art, 18-35mm lens as its a very heavy and long lens. I have to say the SmallRig QR Lens support is built really well. The only negative and this is no fault of SmallRig's is that I could only find the support in China directly from SmallRig HQ. I could not get this in the UK. but the support for the Sigma lens is very good.

    great support

The lens support with 15mm rod clamps could be mounted on dual 15mm rods and provides great support for the lens. It could be locked tight with a wingnut, and its height could be adjusted as per your needs. It features rubber pads on the top to prevent the lens placed above from scratches.

    Solid and trustworthy

Very nice piece of gear. Well constructed, and solid, easy to manipulate to make it do what I expect. In this case I use it with a Canon L 100-400 lens on a Panasonic GH5, with the rails and support provided by the Edelkrone Pocketrig. I had to make a strap for it, as Smallrig does not supply one .. I wish they did .. but basically I sewed Velcro strips to the lens support ends and that makes it a solid support for any camera orientation. That is my only problem ... the range of motion is very good, and the precision of the machining is very good.
