For this reason, SmallRig invites creators worldwide to co-create the “Climate Protection Manifesto by Global Visual Creators”—a commitment for our time.
For the future of visual storytelling,

We are not looking for standard answers.
We want to hear genuine reflections from different countries, cultures and creative practices.
You are invited to share your thoughts on:
What deserves to be captured in our time?
How should we capture nature, communities and the people in front of our lenses?
How can technology help us get closer to reality while reducing our environmental burden?
How can we produce visual works in a lighter, more sustainable way?
How can visuals go beyond being “seen” to truly drive change?

Upon selection, co-creation and editorial refinement, your ideas may become part of the final “Climate Protection Manifesto by Global Visual Creators”.
Outstanding insights and creator stories may be featured and shared via SmallRig’s global community and platforms affiliated with the Handle Climate Change Film Festival.
Around 3–5 outstanding co-creators will be invited to the Handle Climate Change Film Festival in Türkiye. You may join festival events and share your shooting philosophy, creative practice and statement of commitment.
Based on each creator’s and project’s needs, SmallRig will offer various forms of support for your future visual works, including equipment, technical guidance, professional networking and promotion.
The Manifesto, co-developed by creators worldwide, will be officially launched at the Handle Climate Change Film Festival.

Founded in 2015, the Handle Climate Change Film Festival is dedicated to advancing climate action through visual storytelling. The Festival brings together creators from around the world, climate experts, advocates and the public, using visual storytelling to make climate issues more visible, better understood and more actionable.
Over the past decade, the Festival has received submissions spanning more than 130 countries and regions and has staged over 500 domestic and international screenings. For consecutive years, it has joined the Chinese delegation at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP), bringing climate stories from China and around the world to the frontlines of global climate action.
2026 marks the 10th Handle Climate Change Film Festival.
This year, we set out once again—bound for Antalya, Türkiye, taking part in the China Pavilion at COP31. We will meet creators, experts and climate advocates from around the world.
This time, your voice can reach this global stage.
