    Much better than expected

Posted by NotSoFast on 15th Dec 2021

When I saw this on sale at $99 I bought it, not expecting much. But I was surprised. It came well packed, includes a nato rail to 15mm rod adaptor. Installation on my set up is super simple. I had it underneath the lens. The follow focus is one solid piece that is mounts directly to my 15mm rod and is very sturdy. The wheel turns smoothly without any catch. It's well damp with just a trace of backlash. Fit and finish is excellent. The stops are simple and works perfectly. Overall, it's excellent at the $99 price.

    Nice, compact follow focus

Posted by Richard Munn on 27th Nov 2021

Attaches easily to any cage, and operates very well. Lots of options for postioning it on the camera. For a compact video rig this can't be beat. So much easier to focus using this rather than using the lens itself. The easily-moveable stops for rack focussing are a nice touch, too. Highly recommended.

    make sure you need it

Posted by Red Ranger on 20th Oct 2021

Maybe just make sure you need it. Try and borrow one from somebody to see if you like it first. Apart from that, i did really like it and it helped me solve some problems. Way cheaper than other focus pulls in the market. (btw make sure your camera lenses have the little teeth that go with this product).

    Works great with cine lenses!

Posted by Danamazon on 13th Oct 2021

Bought this after purchasing a lens with cine gears and didn¡¯t want to try to pull long focus on the lens. Works great, doesn¡¯t lose grip and it even includes a bracket to attach a 15mm rod to the side of my small rig cage. I have bought many $100-ish follow focuses over the years that failed for various reasons and this one is quality and actually works. Love it!

Clever design and Good built quality

Posted by Jeremy Grayson on 27th Sep 2021

    1. Versatile mounting design with the minimum hardware needed. Therefore light and smaller for travel 2. Solid built and materials, the typical SMALLRIG quality 3. Smooth but well controlled operation 4. Competitive pricing, specifically with SMALLRIG quality If you need a manual follow focus dial, this is it.

    Intelligent design

Ability to not just raise but angle the drive cog makes this a fairly universal fit while keeping the housings clear of the camera and lens.

It works, but I prefer using my hands

Posted by Chue Cha on 11th Jul 2021

It works best for cameras on a tripod. It doesn¡¯t work well for handheld shooting ¡ª the camera will wobble as you rotate the wheel. At that point, it¡¯s better to cradle the lens and adjust focus with your finger. Basically, this is NOT for run and gun, handheld shooting.
