How to install the plastic slide lock? I do not see instructions online, not sure if I need to install this on the cage, and how to do it.

Is this compatible with the Camera Clip for Backpack straps or do I need to use the additional mounting plate?

It is compatible. Please mount the mounting plate of the Camera Clip for Backpack straps to the bottom of this cage first, then slide in the Camera Clip baseplate.
