Why should I choose a mini v mount battery over a standard-sized one?

A mini v mount battery, such as our VB99 SE or VB99 Pro, offers the high capacity of traditional batteries in a much more compact form factor. These are ideal for handheld gimbals and compact rigs where weight is critical. Despite their size, they provide powerful PD fast charging and multiple ports to power your camera, monitor, and wireless transmitter simultaneously.

Are SmallRig camera battery kits fully compatible with Sony, Canon, and Nikon cameras?

Yes. Our camera battery solutions, including the NP-FZ100, LP-E6P, and EN-EL15c series, are designed to be fully decoded. This means your sony camera battery, canon camera battery, or nikon camera battery will show accurate power levels on the camera screen without pop-up warnings, ensuring a seamless professional workflow.

When should I use a dummy battery instead of a standard camera battery?

A dummy battery is the best solution for long-duration video shoots, live streaming, or time-lapse photography. By connecting a SmallRig D-Tap to NP-FZ100 or LP-E6NH dummy battery to a larger power source like a v mount battery, you eliminate the need for frequent battery swaps and prevent camera overheating during extended runtimes.
