Maybe one of the best small magic arms

Posted by Michael Stevens on 14th Dec 2021

It's small and lightweight but still feels solid enough to hold a good amount of weight for its size. I liked it so much I bought another. If Small Rig made it longer I'd probably get one of them as well.

    Exceeded expectations

Posted by Viorel Ganea on 17th Jun 2021

Initially I thought it would be a simple piece of metal that would eventually disappoint me. If you know how to mount it, it will help you a lot in mounting your monitor or other extra equipment.

Light, Solid as a rock, better than RAM mounts. 10/10.

    Posted by L.M. on 20th Feb 2020

Ordered as my current system of RAM mounts had some play under the weight of my Inferno recorder and this new arm is solid as a rock. The Smallrig cage already on my FS5 gives plenty of solid mounting options, and the same on the Smallrig cage for my Inferno. The extra large handle on the new arm makes it easy to do up extra tight, and the rubber balls also have an extra thick rubber band round the center meaning they remain extra solid even under a lot of weight and full extension. Weight wise it is no heavier than the plastic RAM mounts I previously used, and all for a great price. Cant recommend enough.

First impressions: sturdy and provided good support for a monitor/recorder.

Posted by Ian Stark on 14th Jan 2020

This is a short 'first impressions' review because I have only used this mount once and I need to use it a bit more before being able to confidently review it. From one use, though, I am pleased with it.

    Tried it and liked it

Posted by Tony M on 4th Oct 2019

This is by far the best monitor/recorder connecting arm I've used. It is short enough not to put to much excess on to the camera yet sturdy enough to have confidence a 7Q+ with rig won't budge. Simple single tension screw makes adjustment a breeze. Tried it, liked it and purchased another.

I¡¯ve used many magic arms, including ones costing ?X00s from Noga. They almost always slip and sag. The magic arm 2070 is one of the best, rock solid mount for heavy monitors without slippage. Am really starting to love the quality and decent pricing of Smallrig equipment.

this is a great bit of kit

    Posted by j h ashcroft on 6th Mar 2019

I have 3 of these little clamps and they are fantastic. I use one to fix my small hd monitor too a c300 mk2 and another to a Ronin, but the main use I have found is that it solves the infuriating droopy led-monitor/viewfinder issue on the mk 2,by simply attaching between thread(on monitor unit) and camera handle problem solved after nearly 3 years of it being a proper pain. Thank you guys for such a great product keep em coming.
