Locking lever clicks in and releases solidly. Gauge and machining is exceptional, just one or two notches below the level of RRS even. I'd be okay with mounting heavy rigs onto this from elevated heights.
It is a drop-in style baseplate designed for camcorders. The baseplate could be adjusted for balance but at the same time it ensures the camera attached above will not drop out accidentally. A locking lever on the side is used to lock the plates tight and meanwhile the lever is firmly locked by a buckle. I really appreciate the craftsmanship spirit of the designer ‘cause his designer makes every thing work!
