I purchased this as a follow up to my Sony A7riv smallrig cage, it would've been nice to know you need the SmallRig Arri #1939 to be able to attach it to the cage in the first place! Now I see the description in the body of the product page but it really should be highlighted a bit more.
This handle is amazing the quailiy is first class. It makes shooting video hand held a breeze.
Would be nice to ad few more options:
1) inside battery grip make a battery compartment for two Li-Ion 18650 or Sony Np type battery to power sony a6500 camera
2) add multi interface (may be physical switch) between LANC interface and SonyA interface
3) Add zoom button
4) may be add cold shoe mount (but not necessary)
I'm ready to pay for it at least 200-250$
What a beautifully crafted piece by SmallRig! The grip is comfortable to hold and the remote works perfectly. I bought the Nato rail to Arri rosette clamp and 46mm Nato rail as well. It snaps on my camera in seconds and off the same making setup in the field super easy. This is a much accessory for hand held shooting with your Sony A7iii or similar. Bravo SmallRig!
Have used it a few times and love it! What's great is the size, location of the mount, and even the cable. I was about to purchase another company's trigger handle for my a7iii, when this popped up on my feed. First, it was over $100 cheaper. Second, with the mount being located at the bottom, allows camera, cage, and handle to sit down on a table flush and not lopsided. Third, the cable is a USB C and USB micro, vs the other company's handle was true genlock/camera cable. I've used it a few times and have enjoyed it thus far!
