Excellent sun hood for my BMPCC4K

Posted by Todd Groves on 27th Sep 2019

To put it simply, without this sun hood it would be virtually impossible to properly work with my camera shooting in outdoors during the day without it. With this sun hood, I am able to confidently expose my shots, work with focus peaking and see the effects of any LUTs I apply to the image while filming. This is a no brainer for anyone with a BMPCC4K or 6K, in my opinion.

Needs To Be Available For SmallHD 5" FOCUS Monitors

Posted by Edward Gordon on 23rd Sep 2019

Owning one of Small Rigs - SmallHD 5" Focus Monitors Cages, I wish there was a 90 degree attachment adapter allowing this sun hood could be used with that monitor cage. Unfortunately, the tap hole alignment of the 90 degree brackets on the VH2299 are slightly "off" for that monitor cage. It would be GREAT to replace the "tacky" sun hood with Velcro straps that comes with the 2249, with the more substantial (and better designed) hood found with the VH2299. Other than that wish, the VH2299 is a GREAT addition to my BMPCC4K rig. I wish it had been available before a recent trip to the Canadian Rockies !

    Almost perfect.

Sometimes I face my NATO rail handle in the other direction when I'm using a longer lens. Tightening it up could be a problem with the sunshade bolted in the same place on my cage.

    Extension and bottom compartment

Posted by Jeremy on 8th May 2019

I think it's great that it's easily removable via magnetic mount, very smart design as shooters often have to quickly switch between indoors and outdoors. Would be great if you could actually extend the bottom part and configure some sort of compartment where we could reach in and adjust controls on the monitor. That way there's more protection from sunlight but there's still a way to quickly adjust some settings that can't be fine tuned from the physical buttons.

    Removable bottom part

Would be nice if the bottom part of the sunhood was removable for better touchscreen control.

    SSD Holder

Posted by Thell aloslln on 6th Feb 2019

You think there could be a place to hold an SSD on there? Maybe a screw, or even velcro straps? The surface area on the top is pretty large, it'll be a shame if it's not put to good use
